Finally, the movie everyone has been waiting for is now available for online streaming on panatv.com - for US residents first. UK residents will have to wait till August 4th while the company works feverishly to make it available for streaming in Nigeria despite the ban by the Censor Board.

Half Of A Yellow Sun is the screenplay adaptation of the book of the same name, written by Orange prize winner, Chimamanda Adichie and directed by Biyi Bandele. Continue...

The film tells the story of privileged twin sisters Olanna and Kainene, who return to Nigeria after their expensive education in England. They both make shocking life choices, as Olanna moves in with her lover, the "revolutionary professor" Odenigbo, while Kainene takes over the familys interests and falls in love with an English writer. Intimate betrayals and the onset of the Nigerian civil war caused by the declaration of independence of the southeastern regions as the Republic of Biafra, turn the lives of the sisters around in a way that they never imagined.
Since its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, the movie has been widely received and applauded. Packing a powerful cast comprising Academy Award nominee, ChiwetelEjiofor, BAFTA winner, Thandie Newton, Anika Noni Rose, Nollywoods A-list actress, Genevieve Nnaji, and veteran singer, OnyekaOnwenu, it can be arguably described as the biggest collaboration between Hollywood and Nollywood.
PANA TV currently offers over 8,000 hours of quality entertainment videos that span African films, music, TV series and Nollywood movies to list a few. Since its quiet beta launch in April 2012, it has established key partnerships with renowned companies and brands such as M-NET, Africa Fashion International (AFI), Samsung, Tuluntulu and Bokeh Fashion Film Festival.
The company also has offices in Houston, Lagos and Johannesburg.

Obi Asika, Jimmy Jatt, Emma Ugolee and others make top 20 list of pioneers of the new Nigerian music era

List compiled by Reading-Bridges magazine.Totally agree with it...guess that's why I'm sharing it :-).
Once upon a time, the oyibo man ran Nigerian music when big international music labels as Sony, EMI, Motown etc set up here and called the shots. Unable to contain the yawa they met, they packed their baggage and left. Leaving us with no clue as to what to do.
Those who decided to invent a new Nigerian sound were criticized strongly by the older music act as being armatures who were heading nowhere. The press too, was not exactly kind to their course. But they stuck to their guns with sacrifices and today we have thousands making millions out of an industry they slaved for
These are the top 20 guys who began and grew the new age Nigerian music industry. The seed sowers and pioneers who created and promoted the new sound that feeds millions today and put our music on the Global map. See the guys after the cut...
1    1) Kennis Music : Nigeria's foremost indigenous record label. Even though they had a structure that promoted basically acts under its umbrella, they generally gave the new school artist an enviable status.  Hype masters who were undeniable experts of bestowing a larger than life perception to the new school Nigerian music artist and warming them into the hearts of Nigerians via the widest TV network at the time. This often attracted followership for the artist, increasing their fan base as well as big bucks from the corporate sponsors. Kennis music hold the record of getting the first new school Nigerian act (Rapper EedrisAbdulkareem) to be paid N1,000,000:00 for one show
2)  Ben Omoage, popularly known as Grand Master Lee and widely called GML. A strong crusader for the new school act. His voice was on radio and it was loud. His platform had power and he used the power predominantly to call attention to the emergence of a new kind of sound. He was loud and he was heard. GML was known to be kind to the new bunch of musicians and gave them air time they could never pay for.
3) Ayo Animashaun : The resilience of another pioneer. His introduction was with his magazine that thought a generation the lyrics of all their favorite songs. He was one of the first to play Mongo Park with the hip hop world. Discovering a whole new world of Nigerian music. Ayo also engineered the most enviable reward scheme for the new school act with an Award ceremony that replicated Hollywood's glitz and glam
4   4)  Emma Ugolee: A forerunner with the introduction of music videos as the new tool for marketing the new Nigerian artist. On TV, this presenter, producer was the only alternative to the Kennis music dynasty. As inventor of the first ever all Nigerian music video countdown, his TV show was making more artist than we expected. Renowned for his ear and eyes for talent and personal support for most of Nigeria’s biggest music acts today from the early days of their struggle. A force the industry would never forget
5) Dj Jimmy Jatt: An old school Dj with the new school flavor. If Jimmy played your song, it was like getting a seal of industry approval, cause unlike many of his colleagues who were still stuck with music from the west, Jimmy celebrated the new Nigerian music by playing at the biggest platforms in his time. Every leader of the new school has a cherished favor given by Jimmy in the wake of his career. In the words of Tuface “back then na Jimmy Jattna him dey give us instrumental”

6) Paul Play: New school producer extraordinaire. Made that fresh sound for so many of the pioneers as well as himself. Formed one of the first new schoolR and B groups in Nigeria called Oxygen. Paul IK Dairo had big shoes to fill with a musical icon of a father, but like Femi Kuti, he too had found his own path and identity but also carried quite a crowd on his back in the process.
7)  Kwame : Kwame was another voice on radio with a following that was hard to ignore. His style made us all want to listen to what he said. This presenter deserved our attention. When the new school took off. Kwame was a pilot that the journey wouldn't do without. He used his platform well for the good of the course. His hunger expanded to TV where Nigizziewas eventually born

8)  Eldee: For an under graduate in his late teens, his vision was legendary. Forming his solo record label (tribe records) and initiating trade with the Alaba trader for the industry are landmarks that changed the business, inspiring a whole lot. Attributable all to a man aptly called the Don. Tribe records also went on to create a long chain of successful careers.
9)  Nelson Brown : Another producer of the new Nigerian sound. The legendary Daddy Showkey’s "Diana"  and Plantation boy's "body and soul" albums are one of the many industry redefining sounds that came out of the stable of Mr Brown's dove records that operated from a small kiosk in Festac. Nelson's versatility was amazing as he made hip hop hits for Def O clan, Love songs for P.boiz  and yet sold that Ajegunle new school to Nigeria.
10)  Obi Asika : Heavy weight that enjoyed throwing his weight behind the new Nigerian sound. His backing for Junior and Pretty was one of the early signs that the industry was better off with Obi sticking around. This was made manifest over time as many more owed their blossoming careers to his dedication to improving the industry

11) Swat root: When rap music had taken over the world and we were wondering who could represent the nation with the way it should be done. A team of Northern Nigerian based rappers known as Swat root did not let us wait for long. These intellectual kings of punchlines made so many youngsters believe that they too could get a shot at this as a means of living. The acknowledgment intro of Ice prince's ELI album lists their names as OD, Terry tharapman, Mode 9, Six foot plus, Ruclean and EldeeXtra Large
12)  Uzo Okpechi : The man who took directing music videos personal. Invested for the sake of showing that we too can look like the guys on MTV Europe and Channel O. He was at a time the sole supplier for quality videos to all who played them. His tag team with Mr Emma Ugolee mentioned earlier was memorable as defining what is today called packaging with visuals.
13). Plantation boys : As Jodeci, New Edition, The boys, Boys to men, etc all got everyday black American boys to believe in coming together to make music magic, Plantation boys did same for the Naija kids. Totally fresh sound from the boys next door, transformed their reality into millions of achievable dreams for music hopefuls who flooded the industry. Body and Soul- the album remains the contact point for many with the new age Nigerian sound
14) Remedies : Another Music redefining band. Made music that opened doors to the acceptance of the new school.Eddie, Tony and Eedris where the symbol of the new school super stars. They inspired many to make that trip to the studio and make the sponsors of entertainment take the new school seriously
15) Ojb Jezreel : Like Paul play and Eldee. Ojb too had opened his doors to the production of talent that congested his studio daily. If he got paid for free beats he gave out, he would have been a millionaire. Responsible for the 1st sounds from Dbanj, Rugged man, Funke etc... He was another one man mopol that defended the new music
16) Femi Lasode : Here is a man who set up a business to make money out of music with his Africa 'n Vogue concept but ended up playing father Christmas all year round with free studio sessions and video making ticket to countless who could not afford it. Femi was supportive of the new music and must be proud of where it has gotten.
17) Tee Joe : it takes one to know one they say. A music lover but also a business man.Approached by Eldee with a plan to make paper packages for cd's instead of the expensive plastic cases. Then also to use the Nollywood distribution network to spread this new emerging sound. The catch was for him to provide  a bulk sum to finish production and invests in the distribution. That game changing decision in favor of millions to come was made by Tee joe and today millions of naira flow through that system
18) Eddie Lawani : The bearded one is everybody’s uncle. Not only as a sign of respect for his mature, fatherly demeanor but for his mentorship role that pointed many budding acts in the right direction with his wealth od experience. A technical guru with events production but also uses the link to put bread on many tables as a go between sponsors and artistes
19) Cali Ikpe : Cali was also a crusader on TV. The first man to put plantation boiz on TV. Cali didn't believe that we should make our guys look local. He did what he could to equate the hype he gave home grown talents on his show "Live Beats" to the one he gave international act
20) Charles Novia : Charlie as he was fondly called is today more remembered for his contribution to Nollywood but he had long b4 that been a pillar for the music industry. TV was his medium, and playing videos and interviews was his timely share of introducing and promoting the new era music. His show "who is on" in 1996 forced aoot of Nigerians to accept the new kids on the block with the most populay medium called the NTA network

31 Healthy and Portable High-Protein Snacks

Whether it’s fueling up before hitting the gym or taking a mid-day snack break to avoid the 2 o’clock lull, high-protein snacks are the tastiest way to keep on going. Protein snacks are the perfect way to fill up just enough, and give us longer-lasting energy than the usual, carb-heavy options. Here are 31 of our favorite protein-packed snacks — one for every day of the month! We promise you won’t get sick of any of these choices.
1. Cottage-Style Fruit: Top ½ cup cottage cheese with ½ cup of your favorite fruit. Why not try some superfoods? Bananas, mixed berries, and melon are some Greatist favorites!
2. Beef or Turkey Jerky: Be careful to avoid sodium- and sugar-filled brands, but low-sodium, natural, or lightly-flavored options are a great source of protein. And this chewy snack is super-portable and keeps fresh for months when packed properly. A one-ounce serving (the size of most single-serve packs) contains about 9 grams of protein!
3. Mixed Nuts or Trail Mix: This is a favorite in the Greatist office. Mixed nuts are an easy way to get a delicious dose of protein in a convenient, shelf-stable package. Try a mixed bunch for variety and a combo with dried fruit for some added sweetness. The best bang for your protein buck? Almonds and Pistachios are high up there in protein while comparably lower in saturated fat than their nutty peers.
4. Pumpkin Seeds: Those orange gourds aren’t just for Halloween. The pumpkin insides, scooped out to make room for spooky faces, can actually make a healthy little snack once they’re washed, dried, and nicely roasted! Just ½ cup of pumpkin seeds has about 14 grams of protein — the perfect pre-workout snack!
(Also Check Out: 50 Awesome Pre and Post-Workout Snacks)
5. Hard-Boiled Egg: Inexpensive and loaded with nutrients, eggs are one of the best ways to get a healthy dose of protein. Try hard boiling and pre-peeling a dozen at the start of the week and throw one in a small Tupperware container each day for an easy on-the-go snack. (Feeling extra famished? Slice the egg and place it on a piece of whole-wheat bread.)
6. Deli Rollup: Top 2 slices of low-sodium deli meat (turkey, chicken, or roast beef work great!) with 1 slice of lowfat cheese and a shake of pepper. Add a slice of tomato or some lettuce for extra veggie points!

7. Nut Butter Boat: Any vehicle for nut butter (almond, peanut, or cashew, perhaps?) is perfection in our book. Try loading a few celery sticks with 1 tablespoon of any nut butter topped with a few whole almonds or raisins (oh yeah, we went there). If you’re not a fan of celery, try scooping out the middle of an apple and fill it with a nut buttery surprise!
8. Mini Bean-and-Cheese Quesadilla: It might take an extra minute to prep, but combining these two high-protein treats is worth it! Fold ½ cup black beans, 1 tablespoon salsa, and 1 slice cheddar cheese in a small soft tortilla. Cook in a dry nonstick pan until cheese is melted and tortilla is lightly browned. Wrap in foil and stick in a plastic baggie for easy transport.
9. Shake It Up: The combinations are endless with protein shakes. And one scoop can go a long way! Our favorites? The "Protein Creamsicle" — 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder, 1 cup orange juice, and 1 cup ice blended until smooth — (thanks @JCDFitness!), and the "Star-buffs Shake" — 1 cup iced coffee (with ice) and 1 scoop chocolate whey protein, blended — a caffeine-filled creation from Greatist's fitness editor, Jordan Shakeshaft.
10. KIND Bar: We're not huge supporters of prepackaged bars, smoothies, and the like, but we make an exception for KIND bars. Their classic varieties are a great source of protein from the all-nut base (coming in at around 5 grams per bar), but for an even higher dose of the good stuff, try Kind Plus varieties with added protein. (An office favorite is Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate + Protein — one bar has 7 grams!)
11. Easy Oatmeal Raisin Cookie: Flash back to elementary school snack time with this sweet (but still healthy!) treat. In a microwave-safe bowl (or mug), mix ¼ cup oats, 1 teaspoon brown sugar, 1 tablespoon flour (of your choice), 1 egg white, ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon raisins. Flatten mixture into bottom of bowl and microwave on high for 45 seconds. Cool, pop it out of the bowl, and enjoy!
12. Tofu Sticks: This soybean-based protein bomb isn’t just for stir-fry and Asian takeout menus! When sliced into sticks and baked, firm (and smoked!) tofu can make a great snack food, especially if it’s served with a side of homemade tomato or teriyaki dipping sauce — just don’t overdo it!

13. Chunky Monkey Shake: It’s time to get funky, monkey! Blend 1 medium banana, 1 tablespoon of peanut butter, and 1 cup of low-fat chocolate milk with 1 cup of ice for a protein-packed pick-me-up.
14. Edamame Poppers: The only thing more fun than how much protein you can get from a serving of edamame is getting to eat these little beans out of their bright green pods! One cup of the pods offers about 17 grams of protein. Buy them fresh and steam for about 6 minutes, or use the pre-cooked frozen variety and briefly microwave to defrost (about 2 minutes) before chowing down.
15. Hummus Dippers: How’s this for an unconventional use of a travel coffee mug: Put 2 tablespoons of a favorite hummus in the bottom of the container. Stick a handful of vegetable sticks (carrots, celery, and snow peas are a great mix!) vertically in the hummus, screw on the top, and throw in a purse or gym bag for an easy, on-the-go, super-healthy snack.
16. Soy Milk Smoothie: Time to take a break from the moo-juice! While cow’s milk does have it’s nutritional benefits (calcium and vitamin A, to name a few), soy milk wins in a few categories (vitamin D and iron), and they’re nearly comparable in terms of protein. Try blending 1 cup of your favorite flavor of soy milk (vanilla and chocolate are Greatist favorites) with 1 cup of frozen blueberries or raspberries (for added fiber and antioxidants).
17. Portable Cheese Platter: Everyone wants to feel classy every once in a while, right? Make yourself a mini cheese plate with a reduced-fat cheese stick (or 2 slices of cheese), two whole-grain crackers, and a few roasted almonds.
18. Banana Nutter: Few pairings are more comforting than a classic peanut butter and banana combo. Top a rice cake (brown rice for extra fiber points!) with 2 tablespoons of your favorite nut butter and half a banana, sliced. Sprinkle with cinnamon for some extra healthy benefits!
19. Silver Dollar Protein Pancakes: Props to Greatist contributor Laura Skladzinski for this killer recipe. Mix 4 egg whites, ½ cup of rolled oats, ½ cup of low-fat cottage cheese, ⅛ teaspoon of baking powder, and ½ teaspoon of pure vanilla extract. Cook on a preheated griddle (medium low heat) until mixtures bubbles, flip and cook for another 60 seconds. Top with fresh berries or sliced banana.
20. Chocolate Milk: No, we're not going back to preschool. Low-fat chocolate milk is actually a great source of high-quality protein (especially post-workout)! Try keeping a single-serving, shelf-stable box in your gym bag (or purse) for snack attack emergencies — just try to find one that’s also low in sugar! (I’m a huge fan of Horizon Dairy's single-serve, low-fat chocolate milk boxes.)
21. “Get Greek” Berry Parfait: Just imagine sitting on a Greek isle with this snack in hand. Top ½ cup plain Greek yogurt with ½ cup fresh berries and 1 tablespoon sliced roasted almonds.
22. Grape-and-Cheese Sticks: This is my childhood favorite! Dice a half-inch thick slice of cheddar cheese into squares (you should end up with about 6 small pieces, equaling about 1 ounce) and rinse 6 grapes. On 6 toothpicks, stack the grape and cheese, and enjoy! Just 1 ounce of reduced-fat sharp cheddar offers 8 grams of protein, and the contrast with sweet grapes is super sophisticated (and delicious).
23. Almond Butter Toast Sticks: Here’s another one to fit in that travel mug or mason jar. Toast (or bake) 2 slices of whole-grain bread, and cut into ½-inch strips. Place 2 tablespoons of almond butter (or another nut butter) in the bottom of a container with a top, stick the toast sticks in vertically, and sprinkle with cinnamon. Screw on the top and head out the door!
24. A Little Lentil: We know what you’re thinking: “Lentils? As a snack?!” Yes! Don’t worry, we’re not talking about a bowl of the bland ol’ green things. Lentils are great protein-packed legumes that are easy to turn into super, shelf-stable salads. One cup has a whopping 22 grams of protein in just 300 calories! Not sure where to start? Try this lentil tabbouleh or this simple veggie and lentil mix.
25. Perfect Little Parfait: Top ½ cup nonfat Greek yogurt with a handful of fruit (fresh or frozen) and a drizzle of honey. Add 2 tablespoons of toasted oats for a protein-packed crunch!
26. Mini Black-Bean Mash Taco: When it’s time to get spicy, try this easy snack fix. Heat ½ cup of black beans in the microwave with 1 tablespoon of salsa. Mash with a fork and fold it inside a small (4 to 6-inch) soft tortilla. Store in a small Tupperware container for easy transport.
27. Gobble, Gobble: Re-visit Thanksgiving with this festive favorite. Slice one piece of whole-grain bread in half, lengthwise, and top with 2 slices of roasted turkey, 1 slice of Swiss cheese, 1 lettuce leaf, 1 slice of tomato, 1 teaspoon of mustard, and 1 teaspoon of dried cranberries. This comforting combination packs about 14 grams of protein!
28. Protein Bar: This one might sound obvious, but hear us out: It’s all about finding the right bar. That means one that’s not weighed down with not-so-good extras like sugar, fat, and calories (some options can even be as bad as candy bars!). Do some research to figure which type is right for you: There are high-protein andlow-carb bars; meal replacement and energy bars; or female-friendly options!
29. Overnight Choco-Oats: This is the ultimate personally pre-packaged snack. In a container with a secure lid, mix ½ cup oats, 1 cup non-dairy milk, 3 tablespoons chocolate protein powder, and a handful of walnuts until well combined. Let sit in fridge overnight (or up to a few days). Need some extra sweetness? Add ½ a banana, mashed!
30. Recovery Rice Crispies: News Flash: Protein powder ain’t just for shakes! Try these super-sweet protein-packed treats — Recovery Rice Crispies — from trainer Rog Law.
31. Blueberry Flax Microwave Muffins: Making muffins from scratch each morning is easier than you might think. Mix ¼ cup quick-cooking oats, 1/4 cup fresh or frozen blueberries, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 2 tablespoons ground flax, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of olive oil, 2 egg whites, and a sprinkle of sugar (or other natural sweetener) in a microwave-safe Tupperware container. Cook on high for 50 to 60 seconds. Let it cool, throw a top on it, and enjoy whenever the hunger pangs hit.

LG’s Innovative Door-In-Door Creates Market Trend

With the unrelenting pace of modern life, a tidy, well-organized refrigerator is something that most people can only dream about. While we’d all love to keep our fridges ordered and clean, long work hours and other commitments often end up getting in the way. Having to throw away long-forgotten food items and making unnecessary purchases are just some of the more common annoyances of a household refrigerator in disarray. Continue...

To help restore order in the kitchen, LG Electronics (LG) set about finding answers to the question, “How can we make a fridge that’s more convenient to use and easier to keep organized?” After extensive consumer research, and a great deal of hard work, the company released a brilliantly rendered solution: the unique and innovative Door-in-Door.
According to a survey conducted by LG, four out of 10 consumers cannot, with any degree of certainty, name what’s inside their refrigerator. This lack of familiarity often results in food items being forgotten and eventually discarded. Moreover, a messy fridge leads one out of four consumers to waste time and money on unnecessary trips to the store to buy items they already have.
LG's Door-in-Door helps resolve such issues through the provision of convenient access and smarter organization. The double layered Door-in-Door opens with the simple push of a button, revealing the surprisingly spacious mini compartment with unexpected ease. This makes it quick and easy to find and access essential items and sought-after snacks without the inconvenience of searching through the bowels of a refrigerator while holding a pot or food in one hand.
"A large capacity is not the only factor people consider when buying a refrigerator,” said Mr. Hyunwoo Jung, General Manager, Home Appliance Division, LG Electronics. “Smarter, more intuitive food organization is now a must due to today’s busy lifestyles. Our Door-in-Door provides users with easy access to the items they use the most and gives them the freedom to arrange things just the way they like it. Not only does the Door-in-Door save time, it also keeps cold air locked inside the refrigerator’s main compartment. We are continuing to receive industry recognition and consumer praise for this innovative and practical of features. LG is dedicated to making life easier and will always strive to deliver next-level convenience to its customers.”
LG's comprehensive survey found that, in most households, the refrigerator is opened approximately 80 times per day – often by family members looking for the same few items. The Door-in-Door feature makes it possible to find needed items without having to open the refrigerator’s main door. This reduces cold air loss from the central compartment by as much as 41 percent. As a result, the compressor doesn’t need to ramp up its efforts to maintain a steady temperature inside the fridge, thereby reducing the amount of cold air loss and increasing preservation performance. It also helps to cut down on spending at the supermarket by keeping food fresher for a longer period of time.
Inside the Door-in-Door, LG’s adjustable Moving Basket combines with a handy drawer section to enable customized organization configurations to suit a variety of lifestyles. Each member of the family can easily adjust the height of the different interior compartments according to their own needs. This flexibility separates the Door-in-Door from conventional fixed configuration fridges and helps users to design a storage system that works best for them. Meanwhile, the Mini Table, another of the fridge’s smart features, provides a convenient, flat surface that makes it possible for users to pour drinks while standing at the fridge without carrying heavy bottles to the dinning table.
All of this means that families can customize shelf space to match specific food sets and individual lifestyles. One area of the fridge might be reserved for organic ingredients, while others might be set up for sandwich materials, desserts and snacks, beverages, or a variety of other food categories. Because the Moving Basket enables compartment dimensions to be adjusted, families can easily find a configuration that matches their own specific needs. Of course, food types and lifestyles differ by region and within regions. The Door-in-Door is just as accommodating to East Asian consumers looking to set up an oriental medicine section in their fridge as it is to Northern European consumers who might want a dairy section or North American consumers who might like a section just for sports drinks and protein shakes.
LG is the industry leading manufacturer when it comes to incorporating an additional compartment within the fridge’s front door. The original Door-in-Door made its debut in South Korea in February 2010. The feature has since become a global market trend. In 2011, they were introduced to markets in North America, Asia and South and Central America, with launches in Oceania, the Middle East and Africa coming the following year. LG has sold over 1.4 million Door-in-Door refrigerators worldwide and continues to refine its celebrated double layered door.
jall the benefits the Door-in-Door offers, it’s no wonder the feature has been integrated into each of LG’s global refrigerator categories, including side-by-side, French-door, top freezer and bottom freezer refrigerators. The company has gone one step further this year; the remarkable Double Door-in-Door refrigerator, released in South Korea, puts one Door-in-Door on the right door and another on the left, adding a whole new level of convenience. Even better, consumers around the world will soon get a chance to experience this convenience since LG is planning to launch the Double Door-in-Door in additional markets around the globe.
Double Door-in-Door refrigerator is a great example of LG’s ongoing effort to make life better for consumers in diverse markets around the world. After creating the original Door-in-Door in 2010, the company has upgraded the feature each and every year to enhance convenience in more intuitive ways.
